IMHO, America stood as the one place where every member of society had equal opportunities to reach the upper portion of the pyramid. Right now, America falls short. It sells its citizens short. It seems to care not at all about helping anyone Reach the rest of the pyramid. (2/3)

Americans were given one measly payment of minimum wage at the onset of this covid-19 pandemic. This wasn't sufficient during regular times, it is certainly not enough during a pandemic. America has a VERY LONG WAY to go before we live up to the image we claim to be. 😔 (3/3)

The state’s duty to secure unalienable rights is not the same thing as a mandate to provide every (or any) material good required for their enjoyment.

And it’s not even the 4th of July. I wonder how many people or how often anyone looks at the Declaration of Independence? And or understands it and how it came to be written? Or who seek to nullify it?

Many answers exist to that question, but lots of gardens might be a good start. How many government schools have kids planting gardens? I'd hope some exist, but I know of none.
