Because you are forcing people to be charitable, which is unethical. Governments should prevent any violence, including forcing people to be charitable. Surely if the majority wanted charity they could do it themselves without government anyway.

Maslow's hierarchy of needs illustrates a base minimum of what is required in order to survive let alone thrive. The other levels of the pyramid or rungs of the ladder are much more difficult to obtain or reach if we're still struggling with the lowest base minimum. (1/3)
