When I was young issues of war & peace were on everybody’s minds & everybody’s lips. Why? Because there was a draft; people closest to you were next in line. I’m not suggesting we reinstate the draft but I can’t help but notice how numb people have become to such a critical issue

Continuous war has become normalized under the neoliberal regime, supported unquestioningly by the Dem Party. Last faint gasp of an "antiwar movement" died the moment Obama took ofc. The DP has become a party of war and fascism, neck and neck with RP.

the draft, drone warfare, and “smart bombs” have all worked well for desensitizing people to the US murdering people abroad. meanwhile civilian deaths are up 300% since 2016. americans don’t care about each other, can’t be surprised when they don’t care about foreigners either.

Netflix movie "The Trial of the Chicago 7". Sure is a good reminder of those times. Where people really risked their lives and opposed government for real issues and for other people's lives. Not for freaking masks and to steal an election that you didn't like.

I wander what could fulfill those historical moments in these critical moments. Might it be to bring people more numb or less numb? Would that make a difference? Maybe we put our trust on the experts.

Even without the draft we could just start showing war footage on TV to the American people the way they used to. Make/let them see what is really happening. There has been a massive effort to create the numbness to war we now have.
