A sitting board member of military industrial contractor Raytheon should NOT be heading the Pentagon. Terrible choice. I hope progessives in Congress will speak up loudly. politico.com/news/2020/12/07…

Would these be the same progressives you told to vote Biden?

I hope that you are right about progressive speaking up, but I myself will not hold my breath. Any politician working within the Democratic Party will inevitably be corrupted.

At the end of the day, this is NOT surprising. As much as I agree with you- until there is a conscience choice to be a Peaceful nation, ONLY war mongers or at a minimum believers will be considered for that kind of position. How incredible if this person were anti war?

There should be some legislation to help protect from conflicts of interests. i.e. Be forced to sell stocks and be forbidden from serving on the board of a large defense contractor for a long time after serving as Secretary of Defense.

But this was expected. The military industrial complex calls the shots. It has since the end of the Second World War.

Marianne, many of us were warning you about this! The VBNMW people crying “Trump is bad” but let a 47 year career politician with a shady treacle record slide through. It’s BS! & many of us have no way to fight against it b/c the establishment is too powerful. We need you!

I’m not sure you would call it a Biden pick, since they are mostly decided for him.
