What Republicans call “far left” policies like universal healthcare and free college tuition are considered middle of the road mainstream positions in most of Europe. How tragic that people have been convinced that they deserve so little by the very people who are taking so much.

Overthrow the oppressive state? If you really don't want Govt having too much power, you need to be rooting for limited Govt. Read about french revolution. You will understand how overthrowing of the state turned out.
Exact reason why US is the sole superpower dominates militarily,economically & a leader in innovation and research. Solutions outside of the Govt always lead to better outcomes. Greatest scientists, doctors, engineers, world class hospitals and inventors. Where are they from?
It is called personal responsibility. if Welfare cures poverty and crimes why is it not working? The war on poverty should have ended poverty. Poverty has only gone up. And destroyed families. It stifles a person's ability to work hard and acquire life's experiences.
