What Republicans call “far left” policies like universal healthcare and free college tuition are considered middle of the road mainstream positions in most of Europe. How tragic that people have been convinced that they deserve so little by the very people who are taking so much.

Well said - except democrats in ‘power’ haven’t been exactly fighting for those things either. I do wonder about it. I think it relates back to what Max Weber wrote about in “The Protestant Ethic and the Nature of Capitalism” which I read over 10 years ago ...

We don't live in Europe. If you like those policies move there.

When you say republicans, you're including conservative and "moderate" Democrats too, right? They're all republicans at the end of the day.

The Democrats have also been guilty of calling such things "far left" policies. Having said that, it truly is tragic that people have been convinced that they deserve so little by the very people who are taking so much.

.......Republican “messaging” has hypnotized half the country and the media.......a very effective strategy when your policy platform is suffocation........

Of course these days, 'republicans' does include those to the right of Sen. Sanders. Whitewashing the optics will not bring about awareness, and continues to reinforce an illusory binary narrative. Agree wholeheartedly with 'tragic'...🤔😞

It's not just the Republicans that call these policies far left. So do Joe Biden and the DNC.
