First we had to get rid of a neo- fascist threat in the WH. Done. Second we have to stop the bleed for tens of millions of people living in abject economic despair. Third we have to start envisioning what we want this country to look like on the other side of this period of pain
I see an America where people whose bodies or minds are not able to keep up with capitalism are still honored and valued as having a life that is sacred and worth caring for.
I see an America in which all people are free to live as they choose, all people have equal justice, all people are given the same opportunities to thrive, all people are taken care of equally, and our government actually functions correctly to see that this is done.
I see an America in which children are respected as the adults they will become. Where education, health care and freedom to pursue dreams are rights, not privileges.
I see an America in which the vital work of full-time parents and family caregivers is acknowledged and supported financially, lifting the quality of life for families.
I see an America in which the bottom two tiers of Maslow's hierarchy of needs are attainable as a right of citizenship so people have an opportunity to evolve into their higher potential.
I see an America asking not how many can be killed or silenced or exploited to compensate for its' self hatred, but how many can we inspire, educate, cooperate with so everyone can thrive, because we value every one's humanity.
