America deserves neither the Right’s delusional self-congratulations nor the Left’s knee jerk condemnation. It deserves citizens who will take an honest look in the mirror, honor our ancestors for where they got it right and repair the things that are so clearly broken.

That disconnect isn’t baseless though. It comes from a literal difference in how the left and the right view the history of America. The first thing we need to repair is the broken reality we we experience daily.
