America deserves neither the Right’s delusional self-congratulations nor the Left’s knee jerk condemnation. It deserves citizens who will take an honest look in the mirror, honor our ancestors for where they got it right and repair the things that are so clearly broken.

No, that’s just honestly looking in the mirror. Those are exactly the kind of things that *need* to be looked at. But there is a universal judgementalness, a refusal to acknowledge anything that America has ever done right, that obstructs rather than serves the process of repair.

They are not broken, our systems were explicitly built to oppress us. We are not having a knee-jerk reaction, we have analyzed the system and come to a logical conclusion that the only way forward is with a new system built for the working class.
