Death from a taser is very rare. It's a horrible 5 seconds, but 99.9% of the time, when that 5 seconds is over, the pain is over.

From what I’ve read, it can cause serious physical damage. Major bolts of electricity! And there are clearly many instances of it being used unnecessarily.

It can if you have heart issues or other pre-existing conditions. Most of the time it's the result of tasing someone while they're at an elevated position and fall awkwardly. Agree there can be abuses.
