If trickle-down economics worked, we wouldn’t see a record $1 trillion in wealth gains for billionaires at the same time as record wait times at food banks.

At this point, the issue is more than that it does not work. It is - and has been for a long time - a deeply destructive force that nevertheless masquerades as a legitimate economic theory. It needs to be exposed as the purveyor of theft and destroyer of democracy that it is.

Keeping more of your money instead of the government taking it through taxation is not theft, fool.
Yes this. Trickle-down economics is basically a real actual conspiracy theory. It is not a legitimate economics theory. Someone cooked it up and pushed it even though there never was any evidence nor data to support it and plenty to disorove it. Basically snake oil.

Right. It works Exactly as intended by those who push it, which is not at all how it is sold to anyone below them.

The work-for-income paradigm has been obsolete for ~20 years. You should only be working for like 5 hours a week, doing meaningful things. Unfortunately, your governments forced you to destroy your planet via 3-4 billion nonsensical #bullshitjobs instead. bigissue.com/latest/environm…
Return to Love is one of my favorite books of all time.

Which economist proposed this “trickle down theory”? Which books or papers outline the theory? Or is it a political smear?

PROPER Trickle-down: Treat money like water. If you add water to the ocean, ONLY the ocean gets richer. (Current "trickle-down" method.) If you add water way upstream (with consumers), the water trickles down TO the ocean, and EVERYBODY benefits as the water makes its way down.

The root problems can be traced to disintegration of economic policy. Capitalistic methodology often excludes the necessity for human health and growth, in turn increasing spending power. Socialism often excludes the necessity that it capitalizes on existing free market success.

Immediate cash relief & a national increase in minimum wage to $15 per hr would stop the bleeding. And the billionaire owner/donor class on the "left" eg Gates, Bloomberg & Bezos could step in and do something but they don't. The billionaire left is just as complicit as GOP.
