During the pandemic, the pharmaceutical industry has increased the price of at least 245 prescription drugs. That is an outrage. Congress must take on the greed of the drug companies and end the absurdity of Americans paying, by far, the highest prices in the world.

Do you know how easy it is to stop companies from doing this? Congress can easily pass a law/schedule limiting the increases. The Dept of Justice even better, could look into collusion and price fixing. I bet that would hold prices down

And Trump has tried to stop this which is the main reason the vaccine announcement was made after the election. Hopefully Bernie will have some clout with corporate loving Biden to stop this.

As part of Medicare part D, Bush prohibited Medicare from negotiating drug prices He opposed Democrats when they wanted to make a change Obama had a supermajority and did nothing to allow pharma negotiation, even in the so called "Affordable Care Act" khn.org/morning-breakout/dr0…

Many years ago ... I heard the justification for the USA paying retail prices for Drugs while the rest of the world negotiated huge discounts ... The justification was ... since we were such a wealthy country ... we could afford to pay extra to help support drug research ...

Oh but wait! Didn't trump promise that "on day one" he would decrease the price of Rx drugs and change the law so Medicare could negotiate drug prices? I guess it was just another empty promise.

So, what do we do? Elect people who support the drug companies?

Remember Bill Clinton, at Lewis' funeral no less, thanking Clyburn for derailing #Bernie? The greed and grift of the smug, elitist Establishment Dems is off the rails. postandcourier.com/health/cl…

It wasn't until I moved abroad that I learned how refusing to adopt so-called "socialism" (as to drug pricing), America is subsidizing "socialism" for the nations that collectively negotiate drug prices for their citizens. It wasn't till I moved back that I got angry about it.

So what Trump did by forcing companies to reveal prices and allow people to buy in foreign markets is a good thing right?
