Almost 250 yrs of slavery plus almost 100 yrs of segregation leaves Black America with a lot more than a need for charity, an apology or “race-based policies.” It leaves them with an IOU in their hands that America has yet to pay. #WhyReparations

Much worse than the 50 years of segregation that was in South Africa...

Natives are still fighting for our gov to honor their treaties. Seems the only logical option to move the government to the will of the people is protest. Organize.

Plus, after reconstruction whatever wealth they'd built, whatever land they owned, any safe haven they'd carved out for themselves away from the klan, whites went after and took from them through violence, unto murder. #WhyReparations

There’s this myth that we can’t afford it, it would bankrupt the country, or that it would take away from being able to accomplish other things. The truth is that it’s already holding us back. Deferring reparations makes them more difficult to accomplish and more costly.

I think we first need to teach white america a true and accurate history lesson of slavery. They don’t know what “slavery” actually was or how it impacted black America
