Everyone psychoanalyzing Trump & wondering what mental diagnosis historians will give him. But a larger point is the pathology of the culture that gave rise to him: a money obsessed political system that made the outsized businessman a false god. Correct that or he will reappear.

Exactly. By pandering to a political extreme, it allowed a narcissist to find his base. It made no difference whether Trump believed in their ideology, it was just a collective group that allowed him to exploit.

A money obsessed "political system" did that? I think it was just the American electorate operating through the political system. Don't blame democracy; it just gives people what they want. If you don't like the result, blame the voters who ultimately created it.
