It isn't complicated. It's very simple. 2k/mo until the pandemic is over. #DirectCashRelief

Cash relief is emergency money. The house is in on fire, you put it out. Permanent UBI could easily be funded with a VAT. A $1k/mo/adult net cost ~$800-$1T. A 10% VAT on tech/luxury goods would suffice.

No, direct from the printing presses where we manufacture the rest of the unbacked currency.

It isn’t considered income for taxes, at least cash relief for COVID. Yang is aware enough not to have that extra income to negatively impact Medicaid, etc. All of these little stipulations creates high bureaucracy. Goal is to bring down bureaucracy, increase benefits.

Correct and there’s so much work that goes unrecognized by the formal economy - SAHM, caregiving, volunteerism, art, etc. 1) UBI recognized that work 2) ppl don’t have to do a job, so they do the work they enjoy...

TY for watching. 1) should our society be a gun to a head/mountain to climb or would it be better structured if the fear of death was eliminated altogether? 2) to get work done in a voluntary work force, biz has 3 options a) automate it b) goes undone c) make it worth my while

@scottsantens is a wealth of knowledge on the topic. @Stephen_P_Jones and I have talked your ear off and I’m willing to go further, but I highly suggest reading/listening to Scott’s work. Here’s a really good one from this year comparing UBI to current systems and other topics..

1) that’s not how reality works in real life. That’s what UBI aims to create. FE, you cannot have entrepreneurship succeed w/out a) time b) capital c) customers. UBI makes all of those happen. 2) it’s not free money, it’s a dividend for being a citizen of this nation.

Exactly! So let’s play this out, Amazon, etc automated and priced out everyone. They’ve already priced out billion $ companies when they didn’t take amazons deal. So, how does small biz compete? Without UBI, they don’t. We move towards mad max ..

It's always "there's no money left!!" when the people need it, but bailing out corporations is just fine right? Forget people's lives, the economy is in danger!!! Sickening.

Replying to @marwilliamson
Since we’re printing money, why not make $20,000 per month. Just as simple, right? 🤪
