In the 1960’s President Johnson waged a War on Poverty. Today we don’t wage a war on poverty; it’s more like we wage a war on the poor.

Actually he waged a war to put minorities into poverty so they would be reliant upon the government. Study history a bit more.

The Democratic Party is run by London & Wall Street. They are not about raising up the population, changing the condition of the poor or achieving peace throughout the world. If you're gay you can get married, but don't expect to have a decent standard of living. — Anton Chaitkin

It sure seems. Even with assistance, it’s too little, so limited, help really isn’t there for most. SNAP benefits, are fantastic aid, but are too low for cost of food. Medicaid is great, but hard to find Doctors that accept it, etc. The systems are broken, top to bottom #GHUA

You’re saying all of these wonderful things but I have to keep reminding you that you supported a candidate who doesn’t give af about the poor.

President Johnson also fought poverty, fought for access to health care, encouraged immigration - especially by families, fought racism, fought sexism and Lady Bird Johnson took on littering and the proliferation of billboards/highway beautification. 1/2
