Money in politics is the cancer underlying all the other cancers; getting money out of politics is the greatest moral challenge of our generation. Nothing is more important than that we push for public funding of federal campaigns. The system as it is is irredeemable.

And yet money in politics can be made much less relevant! We can break the paradigm! List 3 Laws the candidate will champion to improve our government ON THE BALLOT! The Voters can completely ignore the Billions wasted on Propaganda & other LIES !

Well... I agree we should push for this, but even publicly funded elections with two corrupt parties propped up by billionaire-owned media monopolies are going to look pretty similar. If money is the cancer, neoliberal capitalism is the ultimate carcinogen.

You could have zero private money and the purple party with its two wings would still have everything all gerrymandered up

"A double minded man...(or woman..) is unstable in all his/her ways.." "Let your yes be yes..and your no be no.." I'm struggling with you. You preach integrity by supporting a Den of Corruption. "A little leaven leavens the whole lump.."

This is the necessary first step if there are to be any kind of meaningful democratic reforms. Period.
I say every registered voter gets voting credits for each election cycle worth $200. Each voter donates those credits to whichever politicians they want for Federal&State! ONLY registered voters can donate,no businesses,PAC'S, or corporation can donations! So it limits spending.

No, they need to keep it going through midterms so I can get rich. These guys make enough in a year to keep me for a lifetime, I want a fake job

Interesting, but I hope you agree that California shows the drawbacks to referendums when there are no constraints on spending. I somehow doubt the US would handle it as well as Switzerland does.
