Money in politics is the cancer underlying all the other cancers; getting money out of politics is the greatest moral challenge of our generation. Nothing is more important than that we push for public funding of federal campaigns. The system as it is is irredeemable.

The establishment of both parties will fight tooth and nail to ensure that never happens.

Money IS the problem and those with the most of it will always use their wealth to manipulate the political system for their advantage. There is only one solution: #DirectDemocracy #GiftEconomy

It could be done if we have both Houses of Congress ... and the Presidency ... but Biden would need to be pushed!

Marianne, that's important but it's still the second most important. Our electoral system is a disease. This two party system is causing our partisan division and perpetuates most of us having no representation. We need #rankedchoicevoting and Proportional voting.

And please, make political campaigns shorter. We don't need two years of primaries + presidential.

Let's just start with only counting legal votes. The fact this isn't on your radar speaks volumes about you.

Short of that Ms. Williamson you could have a system like Canada's: donations are tax deductible up to 70% (i.e. most donations) with a ceiling, no corporate or union donations are allowed and 2004-14 parties got a subsidy of approx. $1.50-$2.00 per each vote cast for a party.

Which is why we cannot continue to vote for any Corporate Monoparty candidates, regardless of wing (D or R). I’m committed to never voting for any POTUS candidate who is corporate funded again. I’ll only vote for the grassroots funded progressive choice. Who will join me?
