The problem with this fraud nonsense—and Republicans’ refusal to denounce it—is not that it’s going to *succeed* this time; it’s that it’s going to normalize all kinds of anti-democratic behavior that will make it more likely to work in the future, especially in a close election.

That’s why it’s absolutely essential that all criminal behavior that occurred during this ridiculous escapade be prosecuted in full. The only way some of them won’t spend the next 4 years figuring out how to make sure that they succeed next time is if they’re afraid of jail time.
