When you’re checking out a politician, don’t just consider what they talk about. Think about the things they choose not to talk about at all. The main complicity lies in silence about some things that actually matter most.

Think of how many voters are set up for failure by tuning out of politics for 3.5 years and then showing up for 6 months and being told what “Americans care about”. They don’t go in knowing what to look for
