1 million people live on less than $1.25 a day; they’re called the bottom billion. 1 billion above that live on little less than $2. 12,000 children starve every day – which is 1 every 4 seconds. The advanced democracies could easily eradicate deep poverty within 10 years years.

Problem is the richest want to keep their money and don't give a crap about hungry children. When the super-billionaires realize they have an obligation to share a small portion of their money for the greater good, nothing will change. Trumpy even gave them billions in savings.

and how do the people join together rise up and take the governments back from the greedy ruling class to stop this atrocity?

Quick give the corrupt United Nations another Nobel Prize for NOT doing their job, yet somehow got a Nobel for alleviating child hunger. #CorruptUN

I’ve never understood why we tolerate poverty. It seems so solvable. It’s this strain of humanity - the Trump’s of the world, the powerful narcissists, who somehow have gained enough control to dull our rejection of that value system. It seems so easy to fix but it’s not. Madness

Global poverty could be solved in 6 months or sooner, poverty is only a lack of money and nothing more. Greed is why those people starve everyday and most other problems foe that matter.

Jeff Bezos alone could save them all...

Can't "like" this, but did present it to @paulkrugman so he can ponder why this is so, yet we honor the work and celebrate the "power" of so many that have led us to this current state. Hint, Paul: it's about physics. Really.

Western capitalism has improved the wealth disparity more than any other force in world history...but let's bite the hand that feeds us.
