#Medicare4All, #TuitionFree are seen as middle-of-the-road policies in most advanced societies - ones doing a whole lot better than ours. Calling them "far left" is just a PR strategy on the part of those resisting the power share that's at the heart of a just society.

What do you have against personal responsibility?

Personal responsibility is extremely important! But you can't say to millions of people living in a chronic state of economic anxiety, working at jobs they hate just to get benefits, constantly worried about health & edu for themselves & their kids, to just "take responsibility"

People get free tuition through high school. Some people work hard and get good grades. Others take it for granted and don’t apply themselves. You’re just extending that into college. People who want to succeed make sacrifices and understand delayed gratification.

A high school graduation certificate used to get someone a good-paying job in America. Today a college degree more often needed. If someone has a college degree they tend to make more $ and buy, which stimulates the economy. Which one of us is holding back America?

So I grew up poor. I worked in & out of school to go to college. Then I worked to pay for my kids’ education. I stimulated the economy just fine and still do. Now you & your rich friends want me to pay more in taxes for someone else’s education, thus reducing my $ & buying? No.

I respect that you did. But my father grew up in poverty, went through the Depression and had the exact opposite response as you. He didn't want others to have to go through what he had gone through. He wanted it to be easier for others than it had been for him.
