War is the absence of peace; peace isn't the absence of war. If we took from the Pentagon budget the hundreds of billions above what our military leaders say they actually need and applied it instead to proactively waging peace, our world would be safer and our future more secure

I like this idea,but Democrats try proactively waging peace with Republicans and it doesn't stop Repubs from being destructive to our Democracy. So I don't know if being peaceful will actually lead to the safer secure future you speak of domestically or abroad.

But there are people who don’t want others to be secure because if they’re secure they can’t be controlled. It would be nice to push the bad guys out of power.

if that money was extended to social programs we could house every homeless person and refugee, give every single person medicare, fix cites like Flint to have 100 percent clean water, and forgive everyone's rent till we have a vaccine and its safe to work.
