The only force more powerful than hate is love. The hatred Trump harnessed for political purposes will still exist even when he leaves the WH. The way to overwhelm it is to love people enough that you fundamentally lessen the pain of the economic desperation they are feeling now.

Acts of love from others can. It starts in each of us. We then form communities that address a multitude of issues such as hunger. It starts with love and expands in unabashedly expressing that love.

That said, I think there are a lot of people who hate Trump on the left & are motivated by hatred more than love. I don't think you're imagining that. I just wanted you to know that there are plenty of people who voted for Biden out of love for their fellow Americans too.

It wasn't hatred of Trump that drove me to vote for Biden. It was love for people who were dying unnecessarily of Covid (while other countries have brought it under control). It was love for immigrants. It was love for women like me whose reproductive rights are always at stake
