Republicans gained power because they responded to people’s rage. Democrats lost power because they stopped responding to people’s pain. Biden will only have a short time to ease people’s pain enough to keep them from going back to the ones who understand their rage.

The social pressure to avoid criticism, to seem “reasonable” in the eyes of the corporate establishment, will outweigh any instinct Biden may have to help the voters. He’ll cave. He’s not strong enough, IMO, to put the needs of the people above his own need to feel “mainstream”.

Exactly. And I can think of no better way to achieve that than for him to support Medicare for All. It will be crucial to him getting re-elected in 2024.
