Dear @marwilliamson If one person loots a store and gets away with thousands of stolen dollars, do you call it theft? Raiding the treasury unlawfully for billions is magnitudes worse. I’m curious, however, as to whether you are going on record that looting = theft. My guess = No
If one person loots a store and gets away with thousands of stolen dollars, we call it theft; but if a lot of people wearing pinstripe suits loot the public treasury and get away with billions of stolen dollars, we call it economics. Strange psychological sleight of hand.

Delighted to hear from you! It wasn’t the guru level answer I’d hoped for (shame on me for silly expectations), but thank you for replying. If that’s an indirect adoption of looting = theft, then I applaud you for recognizing the importance of accountability & protection for all.

Now what to do about addressing these problems? I think we need better accountability, forensic accounting & specialized legal expertise to deal with the multimillion dollar white collar criminals. Our law-enforcement seems more equipped to go after people committing low $ crimes
