Jeff Bezos has gotten $78 billion richer during the pandemic and Amazon has paid zero federal taxes for 3 years. It’s not just a matter of how we can be OK with that. It makes you wonder how even he can be OK with that. #WealthTax

Amazon’s market cap is $1.56T and Jeff Bezos’ net worth is $180B. So HE generated $1.4T value for OTHER people. How about you?

And if we're to believe the media, Amazon are getting rich off the backs of poorly treated employees. Don't we want to buy in to companies that support and empower their employees? Not degrade and dehumanise them.

B4 we pile everything on Bezos, not saying we shouldn't, the system is broken in the 1st place. The Fed saves the economy by propping up stock prices with new money, driving Bezos' fortune ever higher. The problems r structural, not personal.

That's "normal", they use fiscal engineering with a fiscal residence in Luxembourg that secures them a ~1% effective taxation rate. See LuxLeaks docs for the Advance Tax Agreement. If you want to end that, push for an international treaty on genly accepted accounting procedures.

WA where amazon is based also has no state income tax instead it relies on a higher sales tax and a convoluted low rate bno tax wich puts a heavier burden on the consumer, and service businesses that are new and small.

Sociopaths are ok with anything.
Amazon now ranks among Walmart and McDonald’s for employing large numbers of workers on government assistance. The US government is subsidizing Amazon’s payroll, while the business turns a profit.

He repeatedly refers to his fortune as his "winnings." He likes the disparity.
