Monday on yangspeaks.com longtime MSNBC producer @arianapekary joins us to discuss her public departure from the network, the forces that shape cable news coverage, and what we can do to improve our trust in media. A lot of people are concerned about this. Thanks Ariana!

Actually, I just reviewed my journal. On 4/25/19, I was told that we were never to pursue Andrew for an interview on our show (along with several others). The list of candidates was dictated, but the reasons for allowing them or not were not explained.

The political/media industrial complex had a pre-prescribed conversation, and a pre-prescribed list of people they were willing to allow into the conversation. What voters were presented with was an illusion of choice.

There isn’t any real freedom of speech in capitalist countries. Freedom of speech is a liberal bourgeoise fantasy that cannot exist. Capitalist media will always stifle speech and ideology that is both anti-capitalist AND effective in furthering a post-capitalist society 1/x
In addition, capitalist media HAS to slander societies that reject free market capitalism, as it is corporate funded. In general US media is untrustworthy when it comes to “state enemies” like Iran, the DPRK, Cuba, the PRC, Venezuela, or any other nation in the global south 2/x.
I don't count SocDem European countries because the wealth that finances the strong social programs was and continues to be stolen from the global south through colonialism and imperialism. 3/x
Bourgeoise media will always serve the bourgeoise. State media in a country that serves the proletariat will also serve the proletariat 4/x
Yup. If anyone’s wondering who made these calls just follow the money.

But the media does the same when you are interviewing or doing so call polls on citizens. The United States is not just rural America. And black and brown folks live in rural America as well. The media has always been bias.

Are you free talk now cause you and #BernieSanders have been quiet on this whole matter...or complicity??

I saw the choice of 1) a madman, or 2) not a madman-regardless of his politics. Nothing to do with policy, etc.
