They really need to beef up teaching civics in the schools. Tens of millions of Americans clearly know nothing about the difference between a democracy and a police state. Even worse, when they learn they seem to prefer the latter.

I went to high school in the 70s and was a terrible student but I'm constantly shocked by how much I seem to understand our situation more than the younger ppl who seem incredibly resigned. If it wasnt for Twitter...

Yes the media is increasing voicing acceptance of censorship too. It all points to an implosion of some kind. You don’t like what you see or hear? Turn it off, but like it or not the police state is here and not going away. Yes Ed. Will help in a generation or two though.

Civics, debate and ethics classes should be in every grade level in every semester in rotation. Especially in the age of the internet.

Yeah, we need more rules for desperate people to follow in order to be heard by the people that made the rules that put them in a desperate situation to begin with. The US has always had classes of people intentionally, in some cases unintentionally, left out of 'civil democracy.
