They really need to beef up teaching civics in the schools. Tens of millions of Americans clearly know nothing about the difference between a democracy and a police state. Even worse, when they learn they seem to prefer the latter.

Ms. Williamson, Here's an interesting civics lesson: We're a "Republic" according to the Constitution. Also, the Framers weren't exactly fond of democracy...

Yes let’s beef up teaching civics and a false idea of what democracy is. We do not have a democracy and never have. We have a class dictatorship, but schools would never teach about the oligarchy.

I forget who said it..... Teach our children how to think Rather than what to think. Critical thinking, and how to discern what's fact from fiction are what's necessary.
