They really need to beef up teaching civics in the schools. Tens of millions of Americans clearly know nothing about the difference between a democracy and a police state. Even worse, when they learn they seem to prefer the latter.

Most Americans don’t even know the difference between socialism and communism so it’s not surprising they don’t know the difference between democracy and a police state. Honestly, they probably don’t even know the definition of democracy lol.

They also don’t know definitions of socialism, social democracies, communism, fascism, marxism. I would also strongly recommend world history which is necessary to understand all these. Americans are laughed at (justifiably) for their ignorance of world history (add geography).
