They really need to beef up teaching civics in the schools. Tens of millions of Americans clearly know nothing about the difference between a democracy and a police state. Even worse, when they learn they seem to prefer the latter.

You bring up a good point. This is an excellent opportunity for our children (and it appears most of our adult citizens) to learn the voting process. President Trump is taking every possible effort to ensure that a legal and accurate voting process has occurred.

Yes! And even to fully participate in our gov't. Check out "The Knowledge Gap" by Natalie Wexler. Our public schools need to teach sci, s.s., & civics starting in Kindergarten! I'm an elementary teacher & her book significantly impacted my practice.

While they're at it they need to teach basic manners that was taught in kindergarten like wait your turn to speak, be respectful. Some of these public figures seem to have forgotten the art of conversation. 🙄

No one wants a police state! Who are you speaking for? Democracy means we have the freedom to speak our truth, to live our lives how we choose as long as we aren’t harming others, to have less government interference and to have politicians that represent the people!
