Notice how thin the atmosphere is? If you've ever driven 60 miles, you've driven far enough to be in space. 7 billion people, each dumping thousands of pounds of greenhouse gasses (pounds of gas - imagine weighing breath) into atmosphere that's only 60-80 miles thick.
