In order for the world to repair itself, the average person’s sense of self needs to realign itself by a few very important degrees . Our self-identification needs to shift from that of active consumer to active citizen.

Active consumers have lost their identities. They have become data for marketers and media and programmed to consume. Sense of self has been in hibernation for too long, hopefully the ice will melt for a renaissance soon.

This shift away from consuming (and gdp growth) as the yardstick of value is such a huge shift - it seems predicated on widespread grasp of just where we are in relation with the resources we really need (climate, air, water, etc)
