When the story of this era is written there will be tales of incredibly corrupt people in high places. But also of many heroes who fought for & protected our democracy. Many of them are election officials in this race, including Republicans, who insisted on doing the right thing.

There are some Republican election officials in Georgia, Michigan and Arizona who withstood tremendous pressure and refused to disobey the law. I don’t want to withhold credit where credit is due.

It’s not that they don’t deserve credit. It’s that “heroic” isn’t the right word. “Heroic” would have been standing up to the administration *before* the boat was sinking. I’m thrilled they are not helping to dismantle democracy, just wouldn’t call that heroic.
