Obsessive self-reference has turned rugged individualism to rugged narcissism. It’s not a characterological strength but a characterological pathology. Transitioning into a more collaborative and cooperative model of relationship is our only sustainable option for human survival.

I agree with this, but the collaboration and cooperation should not be forced. Everyone needs others, but helping others voluntarily is a great virtue. Coercion to force others to help others such as very high taxes on the rich is no virtue.
