Pentagon budget is roughly $780B; some argue it’s actually more. That’s hundreds of billions of $ more than military leaders even say they need. If we cut it 20% to make every public school in America a palace of learning, culture & the arts, our future would be far more secure.

Cut the Pentagon by 70-80% and we can do a whole lot more to improve the lives of working Americans without sacrificing national security one iota. It will require us to give up our empire and stop being the world’s mercenary policeman.

Why don’t you suggest specific programs than slashing it off the top? Cuts across the board won’t change operations or procurement. You’re only going to hurt individual Marines, Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, and their families. The cuts will go to benefits, support resources, etc

Throwing money at schools sounds good in theory (and don't get me wrong I'm all for spending on it), but it needs to be paired with massive changes. Or you're just throwing that money away the way we do the billions we already pour into it

Bulk of that monies is used to cause conflicts in other parts of the world and to increase poverty and deaths?
