We shouldn't have to have food banks! Charity isn't how poverty should be addressed!

We should be supplementing food banks with federal grants. We spent over $4 Trillion doing more to bail out Wall Street than to assuage the despair of the average person whose life is being devastated by the pandemic.

This is an emergency. Obviously at the long-term answer is actual economic justice, but this is an urgent matter involving hungry people. The solution cannot be abstract, it has to be practical and it has to be now.
