Those denying #directcashrelief for tens of millions facing eviction now have no idea the problems they’re creating. Children are in those homes & they’re watching; they’ll grow up traumatized & angry. Dealing with that will one day cause overwhelming problems for this society.

We’re often told the hundreds of billions of dollars we spend every year to “fight terror” is because of movements that grew out of tens of millions of young men in the Middle East who have nowhere to go and no way to make a living. What do you think we’re gonna have in 10 years?

If you want to know what your society will be in 10 years, look at how you’re treating your 10-year-olds today. The invisibility of children to America’s political establishment is a blind spot that will cost us dearly. We need a massive & fundamental change in how we treat them.

When Jacinda Adern said she wanted NZ to be the best place in the world for a child to grow up, I thought to myself “No country should be a better place than America for a child to grow up.” We have a long way to go but we need to try to get there. It at least should be our goal.

"No country should be a better place than America for a child to grow up." - That is American exceptionalism, and I don't agree with that. Why can't NZ be better than the US? It actually is better than the US. So is Sweden.

I didn’t say we should be better than others; I said no one should be better than us. I think the leader of every country should be committed to no one being better at that. There was nothing “American exceptionalism” about what I said

How seclusionist to think that only America should be that country. We should want for all countries to be that way.

I didn’t say that…

Jacinda Adern ... Prime Minister of New Zealand ... has the courage to express herself as the woman that she is ... she's comfortable in her own skin ... The ideas she expresses are her own ... from her own personal perspective ... We need a President like that!

Really long way to go. How many decades or generations to take in US to change 51 vs 49 divide to at least 80 vs 20?

Research on the Conservative Mind showed that the child who sustained a major emotional trauma prior to age 4 spent the rest of his life in Fear.

People think it already is despite the evidence to the contrary. There is some real manipulation that goes on here. But I appreciate this; it needs to be said.

Indeed. It's more wishful thinking then reality... 🦉
