Those denying #directcashrelief for tens of millions facing eviction now have no idea the problems they’re creating. Children are in those homes & they’re watching; they’ll grow up traumatized & angry. Dealing with that will one day cause overwhelming problems for this society.

We’re often told the hundreds of billions of dollars we spend every year to “fight terror” is because of movements that grew out of tens of millions of young men in the Middle East who have nowhere to go and no way to make a living. What do you think we’re gonna have in 10 years?

If you want to know what your society will be in 10 years, look at how you’re treating your 10-year-olds today. The invisibility of children to America’s political establishment is a blind spot that will cost us dearly. We need a massive & fundamental change in how we treat them.

When Jacinda Adern said she wanted NZ to be the best place in the world for a child to grow up, I thought to myself “No country should be a better place than America for a child to grow up.” We have a long way to go but we need to try to get there. It at least should be our goal.

As an occupational therapist I speak often about developmental trauma. People just don’t get what this does to the entire life of a human. Thank you for speaking out. I wish someone was listening.

And the children in ICE detention cages are going to grow up with an intense hatred of America.

Yes ... absolutely!
In order to reach that goal we need a massive and fundamental change in how we treat each other.
