1/ I don’t understand how establishment Democrats can fail to realize how much appreciation and loyalty would be created by 45 million people having their college loan debts canceled.

2/ Then imagine those same people being told that because we passed Medicare4All, they will no longer have out-of-pocket healthcare expenses.

4/ Do you think they would reject you, or do you think they would vote for you? Time and bandwidth now to spend with their families, an absence of chronic economic despair, and the space to live the lives they most want to live. How can it be bad politics to treat people well?

A lot of appreciation & loyalty would be lost by banks & financial institutions that do private loans, sadly. Also, private colleges would be unhappy as they now have to fight with the government regarding tuition. Of course it should be done anyway, fuck those institutions.

They still wouldn’t deserve loyalty or appreciation. They deserve nothing. It is their JOB to represent the people and policy they’ve desperately needed for far too long. They have abandoned that job for profit & power. If they do cancel all student debt, they don’t get a medal
