Ford pardoning Nixon was well-intentioned but a big mistake. Justice done provides reconciliation without which it’s difficult to move on. It will be important once this administration is over that we refuse to “let bygones be bygones.” Not for revenge but for a sense of justice.

Just let Trump go. He will be in hell for the rest of his life because of the hysteria against him by half the country. If you go after him criminally, you alienate the other half of the country. For the sake of everyone, let him be and he can go tweet all he wants.

never mind 'sense' -for real justice -100's of thousands dead bc of lazy incompetent arrogance. Or willful pleasure in designing negligent homicide.

73MM of your fellow citizens will not perceive this as “just a sense of justice”. This standard has not been applied to previous administrations so it WILL be seen 100% for vengeance. That perception will not be far from the mark since you do not require it of your own party.

Pointless rhetoric on your part, but I do agree in setting that precedent. The thing is we are talking about national security, and he would not be able to be tried in a juried court. No, retired presidents will all have to be tried under the espionage act. Anarchy in the USA!

Revenge is as violent as the crimes committed which include the willful obstruction of good policies and practices. Those who committed these acts must be held accountable so that the hurt and damage can be formally acknowledged and the acts formally and unambiguously condemned.
