I can’t understand why thinking Americans should have the same or better healthcare, or educational or economic opportunities that citizens in other advanced democracies have should be considered “too far left.” What’s the downside?

The downside is a drop in health insurance industry profits and a drop in their corporate donations (aka bribes) to the Dems and Republicans. That’s what Dems care about first and foremost.

For religious people who equate divine favor with earthly riches, helping the unfortunate interferes with their god’s will. If that seems antithetical to christianity, rate the most publicly pious christians according to their advocacy for providing medical care to the poor.

Those that claim good progressive policies like M4A and living wages are 'too far left' are just spreading propaganda for the Oligarchs. And unfortunately our media has been taken over by people like that too, it's not just Fox that's the culprit anymore.

Maybe it’s because we aren’t actually a democracy Bit rather an oligarchy disguised as a democracy

I can’t understand why Medicare for All is socialism, but Medicare for those over 65 isn’t; and why universal college is socialism, but universal K-12 isn’t? 🤔

I can't understand why Americans haven't come together for a General Strike to show the corporately controlled politicians that we won't tolerate their greed and corruption any longer.

Many "poor" countries also have universal healthcare and free university. Those benefits have been around for over 100 years in some countries. I don't know why that rarely gets mentioned.

Employees who knew they could get healthcare regardless of their job situation might not be inclined to put up with the incredibly terrible jobs offered by most US employers.

It's not all that Left, but since this country is a big Ponzi Scheme for the corporations that thrive on human suffering, it's been painted that way.

The big government narrative pushed through since the Reagan admin by Repubs has convinced many that it's not feasible. it's also been driven in our head that American medicine is the best and No One compares but that's not true.
