I can’t understand why thinking Americans should have the same or better healthcare, or educational or economic opportunities that citizens in other advanced democracies have should be considered “too far left.” What’s the downside?

One can't argue against universal healthcare in other rich Western nations where overall care is better and costs lower, without saying that Americans aren't as smart as Germans, French, Italians, Swedes, etc. And aren't as smart as we think we are.
As to Georgia and healthcare, what do surveys say? Are Georgians part of the 72% of Americans who want universal healthcare? If so, do chances of winning go up running on what majorities support or not? Or is "Trump bad" still the Dems best platform?

People who think like this dont consider minorities Americans. I'm not sure how you dint se this exterior that you're white. The would rather let the whole ship sink than to "give" minorities any assistance whatsoever.
