I can’t understand why thinking Americans should have the same or better healthcare, or educational or economic opportunities that citizens in other advanced democracies have should be considered “too far left.” What’s the downside?

You voted for Biden. You celebrated it. That's why Americans won't have better, or the same, healthcare and the other opportunities. Until you reckon with the deep, systemic damage you've done by empowering Biden/Harris, and hold yourself accountable, nothing will change.

If one factors out puritanical, Calvinistic tribalism baked into the psyche of the citizenry & repackaged by the MSM there is none.

Less redistribution of our wealth to the top 1% , so NO, we cannot do these here or the capitalists’ profits will decrease a bit , and that’s unacceptable.

The downside is that the privileged won't feel as privileged and it might help poor people progress...and some feel that progress should be one sided..keep the poor very poor and sick is their agenda...
