Of course we are. Human beings have a total lifespan of three score years and ten; the people in power have on average just 20 years left alive. What incentive do they have to worry about things that might happen in 100 years?

The way we order our civilization we鈥檙e subconsciously planning our own obsolescence. From environmental degradation to nuclear irresponsibility to economic tribalism, we allow huge self-destructive forces to organize the way we operate. Current prognosis? Maybe another 100 years

Some of them give a thought to what they deem to be universal spiritual laws like what goes around comes around. Sometimes this thought frightens them when they take stock of their own behavior. It's not always to live according to the dictates of one's conscience ..
