As we near the moment of knowing that this nightmare will be over, I’m not experiencing the giddy excitement I expected to feel. I feel more the shock of knowing how close we came to the demise of our democracy, and an almost tearful gratitude that we survived.

Unless Biden changes things on a fundamental level, he's just going to do the same thing Obama's presidency did: lay fertile ground for the next Trump. We're also entering the darkest winter with a second wave of covid. The fight for 'survival' isn't anywhere near ended.
