As we near the moment of knowing that this nightmare will be over, I’m not experiencing the giddy excitement I expected to feel. I feel more the shock of knowing how close we came to the demise of our democracy, and an almost tearful gratitude that we survived.

That lack of giddy excitement is because you know intuitively that this nightmare won't be over

how is it 'democracy' when people must vote for one terrible candidate to defeat another? That's not democratic at all. The people very obviously do not rule this country.

To clarify people didn’t survive....suburbia survived. They survive no matter which president caters to them and only them and the donors. The rest of America...😓, duopoly is as duopoly does.

True words spoken! I feel that as well! This is our wake up call! We can’t afford to go and put our heads in the sand. The lion will continue to prowl but we the people now are seeing more than ever that our democracy is a true honor and that it was and is extended fragile! ❤️✌️
