As we near the moment of knowing that this nightmare will be over, I’m not experiencing the giddy excitement I expected to feel. I feel more the shock of knowing how close we came to the demise of our democracy, and an almost tearful gratitude that we survived.

How would it have been the “demise of our democracy” if the other guy won in an open and fair election?

Same here, and an overwhelming sense of relief.

To have "the demise of our democracy", USA would need to have one in the first place... What you have in USA #1 is NOT democracy. And what USA #1 exports overseas is definitely NOT democracy 🦉

I'm still more anxious about getting evicted in December.

We have survived and will continue to do so. Hold our heads up and know in our hearts that we are stronger than ever imagined. Now is the time to start the healing process. As Joe will reach across the aisle, so too will we. We are divided now, and will work to heal the divide.💙

I feel more relief than excitement. Trump exhausted us all.

No nightmare will be over. He was legitimized by madia & dems for 4 years- that's a nightmare! Biden is & will be a nightmare. The oligarchy is a nightmare. Commercial media is a huge nightmare. The States are a nightmare. Still.

Based on what I'm seeing, Democracy is in more peril now than it was 2 weeks ago. Giving one candidate and party the benefit of the doubt because you like them while parsing every syllable uttered by the other is unethical and destructive. The divide is bigger than ever now.

Even if Biden makes it, the nightmare will not be over.
