I’ve been walking around singing “Happy Days are Here Again” for days. I’ve figured it was a message from my subconscious mind to calm down, he’s going to win.

It means to me that walking around singing, "Happy Days", in the middle of a deadly pandemic, with millions recently evicted, millions recently unemployed, still no clear direction from Biden on how he will deal with the virus, shows that Marianne isn't affected directly at all.
"Nothing will fundamentally change" - Joe Biden. I hope you didn't think it mattered. Oh well, still better than Trump.
A better question would be HOW. How did they get from the primary to the general.
Depends on how much you're going to edit out the actual factors involved.

I will be happier to see Biden win but there will be no real reason for celebration.
Yes, Marianne installing Bernie is ridiculous. So is parroting Neo-Liberal talking points all of which brought us to where we are currently at today with Trump. It's like GOP voter disenfranchisement, only it's the Democratic political party disenfranchising there own supporters.
What makes me dislike certain purveyors of politricks within my former party is when their walk does not match their talk/when they ignore the majority of their own constituents & their desires for real true change. Those are not actions of representation that cause loyalty.
